Hollywood Music TV s Metal Kel, talks with my hanging out with my dear friend Matt (a.k.a. "Thrasher"), guitarist for my personal favorite N Most KIK ASS Italian Band "EnemyNside". 

Metal Kel: Hey Matt, how are you?

Thrasher: Quite fine!

Metal Kel: Like I mentioned, you’re a metal band out of Italy. Can you tell us what the metal scene like there?

Thrasher: The metal scene here is full of talented bands but it isn’t the same with the venues, booking agency, Italian labels or insiders the only professional people inside the Italian music scene are the musicians!

Metal Kel: How was EnemyNside created?  Who are the current members?

Thrasher: Enemynside is active since 1999. Frallo (the singer of the band) decided to start the band in 1994 with a different monicker (Scapegoat). I joined Scapegoat in 1997 and after two years we changed from Scapegoat to Enemynside. The current members are Frallo (vocals), Thrasher (guitars), Dave (guitars), Suez (bass) and Nyk (drums).

Metal Kel: How long have you all known each other?  How did you meet?

Thrasher: I know Frallo since 1997 (the year I joined the band). We met each other because I had my band playing around and you know, the music scene is the same so the people are the same! About the other members we changed the line-up several times, all the musicians involved in Enemynside are involved in other bands too. 

Metal Kel: Who are your major influences?

Thrasher: Don’t know, we grew up with Metallica and the bay area sound, but now we’re listening to many different bands, from Backyard Babies to Machine Head!

Metal Kel: Who makes most of the creative decisions?

Thrasher: Me and Frallo. We wrote all the Scapegoat/Enemynside songs from the beginning until now. Anybody but us write riffs for the band! I don’t know if it will change in the next future but for now, we make the most of creative decisions.

Metal Kel: Do you have any themes or topics for most of your songs?

Thrasher: You mean about the lyrics? Frallo is the man behind all the lyrics and he usually writes about personal experiences.

Metal Kel: So, how has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

Thrasher: The music evolved since we evolved personally. We started to play heavy-thrash metal .and we re still playing it, a way better than before with a modern attitude, but it’s the same heavy-thrash metal we started with!

Metal Kel: Where have you performed?

Thrasher: We performed all around Italy and abroad, but unfortunately never been to USA.

Metal Kel: Do you have a favorite venue?

Thrasher: All the venues we’ve never been yet!

Metal Kel: Are you signed to any labels currently?

Thrasher: We signed an European deal with Sleaszy Rider Records. Our new full length titled In The Middle Of Nowhere will be released in the early 2008 all around Europe.

Metal Kel: How many albums/ videos have you released?

Thrasher: We released our first full length titled Let The Madness Begin all around Europe in 2003 and now we’re about to release the new album as I wrote before. About the videos we have two official videos: the first one is for the song Your Enemy Inside (from the first album), the second one is a promotional videoclip for the new song Burnt By The Sun from the new album.

Metal Kel: Who produces/directs them?

Thrasher: Riccardo Frediani from Actually Negative (http://myspace.com/actuallynegative).

Metal Kel: How was it?

Thrasher: Great!

Metal Kel: Have you toured yet?

Thrasher: Sure, we toured to promote our first album from 2003 to 2005.

 Metal Kel: Do you ever play any covers?

Thrasher: Yes, we use to play covers sometimes from Metallica to Iron Maiden, from Sacred Reich to Testament, from Slipknot to Guano Apes J.

Metal Kel: Which songs do you perform most frequently?

Thrasher: A couple of songs taken from the first album. The oldest song from the first album was written in 1991, its titled Bad Junks and I think it’s the most performed song ever!

Metal Kel: How many countries have you destroyed so far?

Thrasher: We have destroyed any countries yet, we’ll work for it with our new album!

Metal Kel: What the most insane, hilarious memory you have doing a live show?

Thrasher: Me falling on stage during a gig! I was drunk and I broke my guitar.

Metal Kel: So, what s coming next from EnemyNside?

Thrasher: We are planning the release party for the new album, a tour and a new videoclip stay tuned!
